"Quench the Thirst!"

April 6, 2009 This Weeks Scripture Reading: John Chapters 14-15

Memorize: John 7:37 “On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, if anyone is thirsty let him come to me and drink.”

One of my boys had soccer practice this week and I was so proud of him as he gave 110 percent on the field, he ran, and handled anything that happened on the field well. Mid-way through practice the coach noticing the kids were showing signs of exhaustion yelled “everyone go get a drink”. At thank point all the kids ran to the side lines to get their water containers. What I found interesting was that some of the kids drank while others ready to get back on the field didn’t drink anything, including my little guy. My point in all of this is that the game of life can have its good times and to be honest bad times, but Jesus said if we need strength, reassurance, empowerment, a boost of energy all we need to do is pursue God. Some of us pursue the Lord daily because just like water we need it to live while others assume their ok with the Lord and they ignore the importance of daily refreshing. If you are exhausted, or just somewhat tired remember the words of Jesus and get a drink! Wherever you may be he is ready and willing to meet you.
