“What we have in our Shepherd, is so much greater than what we have” M. Brown
What an amazing wake up call, and profound quote. A friend shared this quote while giving a testimonial about a mission’s trip they had gone on. It makes me truly reflect upon what I am living for, am I living for the material, for the latest and greatest. Why am I killing myself working or what is it that I am continually pursuing? Am I in the “pursuit of happiness” to coin the movie title from a few years ago? The reality is that I have all I need in Christ; understandably I work and make a living for it is He who gives opportunity, and all that I have filters through my relationship with the Shepherd. If I loose all the stuff and have nothing, I still have the Shepherd and that is enough. It amazes me how so many people go with out the material and status in life, life may be hard but when they find Christ they find hope. They may only have faith, prayer, and belief yet they experience God’s wonders or provision, perseverance, comfort, courage and joy. My hope is that my family and I will always know the Shepherd, and not be driven nor consumed with what we have.
“He will feed His flock like a shepherd; He will gather the lambs with His arm, and carry them in His bosom, and gently lead those who are with young.” (Isaiah 40:11, NKJ)
