Confident in God

We stand at the beginning of a new year, yes 2018 is here and for some we look at the New Year with joy and expectation meanwhile for others there may be a very different sense of fear and discouragement. There can be some broad reasons for the emotional extremes that we may feel during this time of year. Maybe for some life is good, things are going well and they are living life on a high. Meanwhile for others due to sickness, financial strain or the death of a loved one looking at a New Year can be overwhelming. The comfort we can hold on to find to is that no matter our circumstance God is for us in this New Year. The scriptures reveal that when we accept Gods plan to save his creation, when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior we are adopted or accepted into the family of God. The Apostle John put it this way “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” (1 John 5:) This knowledge brings with it a confidence and hope that no matter what comes before us God is on our side. He comes with a plan and purpose to not harm us but to prosper us and make us whole. In times of crisis or mourning this may seem uncomprehend able but take heart that God, Father God has not left abandoned nor desolate but he is an ever-present help in time of need and that he is present.  As you ponder what this year will look like take confidence in this that God want to be a part of it, take time and allow him to help you navigate whatever this new year will bring.
