“Christmas Grace”

Writer: Dave RodriguezDave Rodriguez

“In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.”

Philippians 2:5-11

This Christmas season we celebrate the birth of Christ. God becomes man with the intent of redeeming his creation.  Jesus emptying himself, becoming a servant to his creation. He did not seek equality with God the Father, he wasn’t hung up on his status or title, and he was willing to become nothing on our behalf.

Christmas reveals Jesus humility in his refusal to demand what he deserved. Christmas reveals Jesus obedience and his heart to be sold out to His fathers will. Christmas also reveals to us the death of Jesus. Jesus was born for the purpose of taking our failures and sin and making us right with God. There was no other way of redemption, Jesus made the way. Jesus took our place; he gave us the gift of salvation and eternal life when we accept His plan and Gift.

Jesus was obedient to his commissioning, he lived out his journey on this earth, and he was lifted up and rewarded. He was highly exalted by God and all Glory was given to Him. All creation acknowledges Him. “Every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus is the Lord.”

The theme of the book of Philippians is “Rejoice and be Glad”. No matter the circumstance, test, or adversity we can take a moment and be thankful for Christmas Grace.

Richest Blessings in Christ
